Specimen Requirements

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Preferred:

Serum

Container/Tube:  Plain, red-top tube(s) or serum gel tube(s)

Volume:  1 mL of serum

Transport Temperature:  Refrigerate

Collection Instructions:  Serum for peak specimen must be drawn 60 minutes post 60 minute infusion of intravenous (IV) dose.

Note:  Label specimen appropriately (serum).

 

Alternate:

Plasma

Container/Tube:  Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s)

Not Acceptable:  Green-top (heparin) tube, Grey-top (potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride) tube, or Light blue-top (citrate) tube.

Volume:  1 mL plasma

Transportation Temperature:  Refrigerate

Collection Instructions:  Plasma for peak specimen must be drawn 60 minutes post 60 minute infusion of intravenous (IV) dose.

Note:  Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
